This year, through our project and our non-profit association, I have been able to create new programs for the beginning of a new era in INglese Dinamico. Although our opening of our new, beautiful, enlarged functional space was delayed due to wonderful restoration, we are prepared to offer the strongest teaching methodology available from preschool through adulthood.  Our Building Blocks program was represented in an honors thesis written by Melania Chiste' demonstrated the strength and efficacy of the phonological approach that has characterized INglese Dinamico since it began in Venice 12 years ago.  We provide the foundation for young children that launches them into our goal of lifelong learning.

Our active strategies methodology continues with our enriched SAILS Program, now available as a 3-module teacher-training course (currently awaiting Orton-Gillingham and MIUR accreditations). This single program provides teachers from elementary school up through high school, the skills and knowledge to give their students, as part of their regular teaching curriculum, the chance to incorporate fundamental skills in mastering the English language code for speaking, reading and writing purposes that has never before been presented in a comprehensive and approachable format for all teachers and for all of their students -- typical, learning-disabled and dyslexic.

Our new series of courses, English Immediately! are specifically designed to bring the rich experiences of the last 12 years into providing programs with targeted speech/language uptake never before presented. The program for adults, in collaboration with Brandie Silva, teacher, media and marketing specialist, together with the scientifically-based expertise provided in my work as a speech-language pathologist and language-learning specialist, provides just the right balance of speech and language communication that is now sought by clients ready to move beyond traditional, non-innovative English language courses which focus primarily on didactic teaching.

English Immediately! is now presented as well in affordable, effective courses for students preparing for the Cambridge exams. These are enriched lessons which move well beyond the ordinary preparation for taking the exam and focus explicitly as well, on providing enrichment with active strategies that launch students onto the pathway for lifelong learning.

As always, an express purpose of INglese Dinamico has been diagnosis, intervention and teacher-training for challenged students.  Moving well beyond the ideas of 'intervention' currently practiced in Italian schools, the project through the SAILS Program, through a recent chapter written to clarify misconceptions regarding this problem that holds students back from acquiring the language skills necessary for literacy acquisition and success as lifelong learners, provides a pathway for helping parents and teachers in their quest to maximize the learning potential and self-esteem of all challenged learners.

Finally, through our Association, PLATform, Partnerships for Learning and Teaching,  we are working to obtain funding for disenfranchised learners so that the strong methodology of INglese Dinamico coupled with the teacher-training provided to interns from Ca' Foscari, can build a better understanding of the needs of immigrants and other learners in need of special support and sensitivity to their learning needs.  We are committed to developing pathways for employment of unemployed people through excellence in oral and literate language in English, a language of wider communication, and of course, children and people seeking opportunity and education to become productive citizens of the European Union and beyond.  We hope that by comtributing to The PEOPLE Project you will become a part of this social action to build stronger citizens, local and national societies.

Information regarding all of our programs is available on our new, more user-friendly site!  Please feel free to contact me for any further information and we look forward to your support!  I invite you to 'meet' me and my dynamic group of Interventionists-in-training!

Dear Nancy,

I am an Italian school teacher abroad and since a few days founder of a non-profit association " L' angolo giro" for promoting the Italian culture and language. I love your school and would like to follow your steps for opening one here where I live.Do you have any good advices for me? The languages involved would be three:English-German and Italian, on the top, of course :-)
Cari saluti,
Enrica
